New to Alpine Performance?

Welcome! Your first appointment is an opportunity to understand what's going on, what matters to you, and how we can work together to get you moving toward your goals.

At Alpine Performance, care is individualized. There are no one-size-fits-all treatment plans, and your preferences, comfort, and goals are an important part of the process.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your initial appointment is approximately 45-60 minutes and includes a thorough history and physical examination.

Depending on your concern, your assessment may include evaluation of your movement, strength, mobility, neurological function, orthopaedic testing, or other relevant measures.

We'll discuss what I find, what I think is contributing to your symptoms, and the options available to you. When appropriate, treatment can usually begin during your first visit.

Most importantly, you should leave with a better understanding of what's going on and a plan for what comes next.

What Should I Wear?

Comfortable clothing that allows you to move is best. Athletic clothing, shorts, or a tank top can be helpful depending on the area being assessed.

Don't worry if you're coming straight from work. We'll work with what you've got.

What Should I Bring?

If you have relevant imaging reports, specialist reports, or other medical information, you're welcome to bring them with you.

If you have extended health benefits and would like Alpine Performance to submit your claim electronically when possible, please also have your insurance information available.

You'll receive your intake forms electronically before your appointment. Completing them ahead of time gives me an opportunity to review your history and helps us make the most of our time together.

Do I Need X-Rays?

Not routinely.

Imaging is recommended when your history or examination suggests that it may provide useful information or change how your condition is managed.

When previous imaging is relevant to your care, Alpine Performance has access to Alberta Netcare, allowing Dr. Taylor to review available imaging reports and, when accessible, the images themselves.

Treatment & Follow-Up

There is no predetermined number of visits that everyone needs.

Recommendations are based on your diagnosis, goals, response to treatment, and how much support you need along the way. For some people, that means a short period of more active care. For others, occasional appointments alongside an independent rehabilitation or self-management plan may make more sense.

The goal is to give you the treatment, education, and tools you need to get back to doing what matters to you.
