Meet Dr. Taylor Boyd
Healthcare should be built around the person, not the appointment.
Dr. Taylor Boyd is a chiropractor with a patient-centred, evidence-informed approach to musculoskeletal care. She believes good care starts with listening, understanding what matters to each patient, and building a plan that fits their goals, preferences, and lifestyle.
Her appointments are intentionally unhurried. Treatment may combine hands-on care, medical acupuncture or dry needling, rehabilitation, exercise, and education, but the tools used are always secondary to the goal: helping people move well, stay active, and keep doing the things they love.
From the Saddle to Chiropractic
Taylor's path to chiropractic started somewhat unconventionally.
Before becoming a chiropractor, she professionally trained and competed show jumping horses. Working with equine athletes first introduced her to chiropractic care and sparked an interest in movement, injury, rehabilitation, and performance.
That experience still influences how she practises today. Whether someone wants to return to sport, manage the physical demands of their job, keep up with their family, or simply move through everyday life more comfortably, the objective is not just to treat symptoms. It's to understand what is limiting them and help them get back to doing what matters.
Education & Clinical Experience
Taylor graduated Summa Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
Her clinical training included an internship within the Veterans Health Administration in Tennessee, where she worked in a collaborative healthcare environment alongside chiropractors, physical therapists, acupuncturists, and other healthcare providers. She also had opportunities to observe within neurosurgery, further developing her appreciation for collaborative and appropriate multidisciplinary care.
Her education didn't stop at graduation. Taylor continues to pursue additional training in assessment, rehabilitation, sports injuries, concussion management, acupuncture, and movement to continually expand the options available to her patients.
Beyond the Treatment Room
Taylor is an avid outdoors person and understands firsthand that being active means different things to different people.
These days, you'll most likely find her hiking, mountain biking, skiing, strength training, exploring the mountains, or occasionally getting back in the saddle.
Living an active life also comes with its share of bumps, falls, sore muscles, and plans that don't always go according to plan. It's one of the reasons she enjoys working with people who aren't simply trying to “get out of pain,” but are trying to get back to something.
Why Alpine Performance?
Alpine Performance was created to give Taylor the freedom to practise healthcare the way she believes it should be delivered: individualized, collaborative, thorough, and never rushed.
It is also about building something within the Crowsnest Pass that supports an active community and works collaboratively with the other healthcare professionals who already serve it.
Alpine isn't built around one treatment technique or one definition of health. It's built around the person walking through the door.
